The first step is to acquire a biological sample collected from a patient in need of a pathogen diagnosis. This can be nasal swab, sputum, stool, blood, urine, or any other type of biological sample containing DNA or RNA from target bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic specimens. Our process can not only identify those specimens but also provide insight with respect to any sequence-able pathogenic features such as antimicrobial resistances and other pathogenic variants.
Host DNA depletion, DNA extraction, along with various sequencing library preparation steps are performed prior to third-generation sequencing in our method. All necessary procedures are conducted by our contained laboratory automation hardware, and raw metagenomic data is uploaded to our cloud pipeline.
Utilizing the BugSeq cloud bioinformatics pipelines, we produce rapid and accurate diagnostics presented by our user-friendly front-end interface.
Our company was founded in July 2020. We’re proud of the progress we've made, but we’re far from being done. We move quickly, we want to keep moving quickly, and we need your help to make that happen. Here’s what we’re working on and how far we are along. Let us know if you can help or contribute!
